Smith’s new novel tells the story of Danny and Dawn, two twenty-something misfit dreamers on the run from failed jobs and bad relationships, who head for the big city to reinvent themselves—Danny to become a private investigator; Dawn to start her own restaurant, “The Dawn of Good Eats.” But soon their shady pasts collide with their ambitions. How they manage this tragic-comic collision of their desperate but endearing dreams reveals the magic of their crazy love.
Smith noted that “this is such a fast-paced action-dramedy story that I’ve already completed a screenplay adaptation of the novel. We hope to get it to the big screen later this year or next. Stay tuned.”
