RUN: Wilmot Collins’ Odyssey from Liberian Refugee to American Mayor to be published in 2026 by U Press of Kansas

I’m excited to announce that my book about the remarkable life story of Wilmot Collins has been accepted for publication by the University Press of Kansas!

Exact publication date has not been determined, but likely in the fall of 2026.

RUN tells the story of a young man who, along with his fiance, fled the brutal and bloody civil war in Liberia in the early 1990s (over 250,000 were killed), managing to make it to one of the whitest places on earth, Helena, Montana, where, amazingly, he became in 2017 the first black mayor in Montana history!
